ITHACA, UNITED STATES/ Bonder labor, forced labor, sex trafficking, child labor and child trafficking, are reprehensible practices nowadays. Estimations made by the United Nations say that near 2,5 million people from 127 countries are being trafficked around the world. This situation passes many times unseen by global eyes, but is a market that is moving around 40 billion dollars each year.
With the motto “Trafficked Identities,” the Ithaca College’s Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF), will present a digital art exhibition to show how arts can present human trafficking through different angles and points of view. This year the FLEFF, that has a new partner, the Bangkok-based Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women (GAATW), are issuing a call for entries for the 2011 version to be held between April 11and 17.

Wesseling-Germany/ Filmmaking is one of the branches that are called to bring masses into the environmental compromise, with thousands of kilometers of Films being used each year. Most of film practices goes in the entertainment roads, but there are many others that went into the Environmental ones, but no every production must touch a green topic to make it green. Today, Green Films are going into public more than ever and the actual state and we can blame climate and nature for that, but we can not forget that in the past many films have been decisive for our society. Nowadays environmental filiming became a branch of world cinema but green filming is more than nature, animals and disasters being captured, while behind exists a full philosphy that should be counted by other filmmakers around the globe. |
